Rebuilding Together Boston

Rebuilding Together® Boston (RTB) is the local affiliate of Rebuilding Together, a national organization that renovates houses of people unable to pay for essential home repairs and much-needed updates. Both low-income homeowners and non-profit organizations located in Boston that own their own facilities in the city are also eligible for RTB’s assistance. There is no cost to the recipients.

Since our founding in 1991, RTB has completed over 300 renovation projects (often top to bottom major repairs),with an estimated total value of over $6 million and engaged over 20,000 volunteers in its projects... The organization relies on financial support from individual contributors, foundations, and corporations to carry out its mission. At present, the organization receives no funding from government agencies.

RTB also relies on contributions of labor, supplies, equipment and other project-related donations from local businesses/vendors. These donations bring in some four dollars of additional value for every dollar donated to the organization. RTB succeeds because it is “people helping people,” in keeping with the great American tradition of “barn raising” by friends and neighbors.
